Believing in Hope

So during the last week of April, I sought the help of Eponine Margaux to assist me in coordinating an Otaku Chorus because I was inspired by the Nico Nico chorus. An open audition was cast in my Facebook account and a number were interested.

8 people auditioned and now the results are posted!







EVERYONE PASSED!!! YEHEY! Congratulations to Knaix Edmilao, Camille Edmilao, Kit Arcay, Kazuo Requiroso, Capz Capinpuyan, Reika Fernan, Xinji Fernan and Yuki Abcede.



If you're wondering why everyone passed, no that's not meant to happen. Me and Margaux shared opinions on the auditioners' skills, limits and voice range then find then deem-able to join the chorus (yah, we were able to understand what they can and can't do with just 2 songs 8D ). There were scores and calculations so no, it wasn't judged with gut feeling. :D

I PM'ed them and 6 said they're game while the 2 are still on vacation so no word have been received from them but we're all pretty sure they're also game.

The songs are "Just Be Friends" and "Toeto" both sang originally by the Vocaloid Megurine Luka.

OKAY! I'm going to start discussing JUST BE FRIENDS. The song was chosen when I conducted a short and quick survey in plurk about what people would want to hear from the Otaku Chorus. Well, everyone wanted JBF so JBF it is (so I hope no complains will be heard).

Just Be Friends is a song written in the POV of the unnamed man Luka was in a relationship with. They fell in love too young but as they matured, the man realized Luka was no longer happy with their relationship. Although the man still loved Luka, her happiness was what's important to the guy so he decided they should break up.

ROLE EXPLANATION

SOLO - this means we believe you have the creativity to sing this song with "voice stunts". Voice stunts include the long ahh~~ ohh~~ experienced singers make and what-not. This also means you are given the freedom to sing it in a "different road"

NORMAL - this means you can sing the melody. Whatever high notes or whatever is there, from your auditions, we believe you can sing it.

NO HIGH - this means you might not be able to reach the high notes of the song so we recommend you to sing the second voice during the high moments. No, this does not mean you are purely back-up.

Of course, these are what we observed from the auditions but you can show us wrong. ;D

The line-up is just a recommendation. It does not need to be followed. EVERYONE is invited to do solo (but then, who'll sing the chorus?!). Also, if what I placed as no high submits to me a very nice solo instead, I'll place you in the solo. If a solo submits to me a not so nice solo, I'm going to have to change your role. >__<

Just because you are in doesn't mean I'm going to add your voice in the mash-up. If I do not like your work, I'll either make you do it again or cut you off this song.



Next is Toeto. I chose this song... because it's very easy. I make it a point that in each project, there will be one semi-hard song and one easy song. There are a few high notes here but we don't need to dwell deep in the acrobatics of the song. This song is about a shy girl who wants to confess her feelings to her crush but when she goes up to him, she stutters. NOTE: In Japan, when Japanese stutters, they go "etto etto". Kinda like "uhmm uhmm" in English and "kuan kuan" in Bisaya. Her crush mistakenly thought her name was "Toeto" because she stuttered.

I've been scanning my list of contacts and friends and there are a LOT of whom I don't know of. That made me uncomfortable posting contacts only posts with the chance of these unknown people reading them.

So I'm locking down and cleaning my contacts list. There will be deleting and stuff and if you got deleted then that just shows how anonymous you are to me.

If you add me for the pictures or something else, then I'm sorry I won't let you. This is for friends offline and for those who are very close to me online. I am making this blogs because I want to get in contact with important friends even if it means creating private blogs online (which is kinda ironic because the internet is a public place).

Sometimes I can't see people offline so I update them online.

This won't be a long boring blog that you have been forced to read from me whenever I feel hateful or moody, this is short but maybe not quite quick. Just wondering...

I hate thinking what will happen between a lovey-dovey couple after a break-up. I have seen couples grew awkward towards each other resulting in trying to avoid each other's company. There's also the growing hate towards each other and ill intent.

Honestly, I hate that.

What happened to the friendship? Just because nag break na sila ay ibig sabihin one no longer exists to the other. Hindi ba sila pa rin yung taong sinasabihan mo ng iyong sekreto? Ain't they the same person you kissed under the moonlight and held hands under the sun?

Dahil hindi na tayo, hindi na tayo pwede magfriends. Then what happened to the comfort we found in each other? Wala lang?

How stupid and ignorant. Or baka ako 'yung ignorante? Sasabihin niyo ba na masyadong masakit mag-alala? This is why I hate lovers before friends.

I know a couple na kahit ang sakit ng dinaanan nila at pangit ang pag break-up nila, they became friends. The other never failed to be there pag kinakailangan but they aren't too naive to think na magkabalikan sila after the heartaches.

One day I want to be like them. Sana maintindihan ng magiging boyfriend ko na kahit mag break kami in the worst possible way, we'll still be friends and able to laugh off all the fights we had noong kami pa. I also hope the same way for suitors that I have turned down.

Yes, Let's be friends before we became lovers.

Not as poetic as you think.

I bought myself a slim tablet (the graphic tablet hardware, not the medicine) at CD-R King. It's 12", the pen needs AAA battery... and it only cost me exactly P2080 (Philippine Peso).

Since this is just for leisure (nothing serious yet), I took the risk of buying it since I've always wanted a tablet and GOD gave me an opportunity to buy it at almost half the cost of a WACOM tablet but double the size.

For now, it's good. Just hope it would remain with me during the long run. Well, CD-R King's products are acceptable and though I musn't say best but it is in good quality. I bought my first flash disk there at half the price they sell 256 mb flashdisk three years ago. It died a few months after it was bought because I tried to fit 100 mb application though only 102 mb space left. Ahahah

My 512 mb flash disk I bought there a year ago is still with me. The mp3 my sister bought there 4 months ago is still alive too... although a bit battered since we always use it and I sleep with it every other day.

The digital camera my father bought more than a year ago (but less than 2 years) is still alive too and I love the quality shots I get but it can't compete with professional cameras, of course because of its limited functions.

Since, now, I have my tablet, Imma gonna use it. 8D That was just a fast sketch done in paint. I must orient myself! It's still a bit hard to do for a first timer. Oh well. When the time comes, imma gonna buy a WACOM. *dreams on* For now, this will suffice in distracting me from reality. :]

What will you do when you have 6 projects deadlined tomorrow which you need to finish now but your family wants you to watch home movie with them or they'll whine to you for the rest of your life??

yes, they do especially after neglecting a mountain-stack of assignments and projects that were due next week... but only got around to make them despite the 5 month time to prepare them. Ahaha.. my members are so gonna kill me. ~,~
